idle speed MF50 gas

I am sure this has been asked many times..but

The idles speed on my MF50 is too high...probably 1000 RPM...tach is broke.

The tractor runs great, just idles too fast.
How do I drop the RPM's? Is it the carb or the governor or the linkage?

If the governor linkage is set right, then it's the low idle stop screw on the carb throttle shaft.

And that idle screw must be behind the carb and under the heat shield, easy to see and reach?
Will I need to be a contortionist?

Should be a wing nut, and kind of easy to see. Sort of. You can also get your fingers burned adjusting it.
