hello everyone I have a mf 202 with the z134. When I am plowing snow changing directions the tractor spudders and stalls unless I feather the clutch I tried adjusting the main jet a little with no difference. Just did new plugs points router cap I think it maybe time for carb rebuild it was done five years ago. The tractor seems to have good power at 1250 rpm and idles nice until I engage a gear. any ideas ? thanks

Do you have steel line all the way from fuel tank to carb? My 202 that I mow with started acting up like that. Our fine gasoline we get now turned a short section of rubber hose to goo inside. I'm working on a braided steel line I salvaged from a Chevy truck to replace the mix match on it now.

(quoted from post at 07:34:49 01/10/17) Sounds like fuel starvation. Sediment bowl clean? Aftermarket inline filter?

This problem ongoing before/after ignition work? Check timing after point change?
I do have rubber fuel line I cleaned fuel bowl seems to have good fuel flow I have a aftermarket inline fuel filter with good flow. I did the tune up thinking it was ignition, had the problem before and after. I didnt check timing after point change,I will start with the timing. its minus 14 f with 6 in of snow

Every time I get a call on a tractor not running like it should that has an in line filter on it I remove it and that has fixed over 30 or them in the years I have messed with tractors. Unless the in line filter is made for a gravity flow system it can and will cause a problem. You can also do a few other checks like

#1 does choking it hurt or help. If it helps then you have a fuel flow problem
#2 pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas tha twill fill a pint jar in under 3 minutes and yes catch the gas and yes use a pint jar to do so.

Just one of many examples as to the in line filter. Had a neighbor a few years back with a Farmall B and he could not keep it running. I removed the in line filter and it ran just fine after that with NO problem. A few months latter he moved and I bought it form him and I then sold it to from what I was told to a guy in the land down under

hi everyone checked the timing and was good, removed the inline filter.still has the hesitation when changing front to back slows down to almost a stall and sometimes does I think I need a carb kit. Can't get one from this site no shipping to Canada. my local Napa did'nt have a number would any one happen to have the number for the Napa carb kit it's a MS tsx 683 thanks

I got the carb kit ordered from Napa # 2-1401 its a echlin basic kit no throttle or choke shafts.I took the carb apart tonight giving it a good soak. I do have some wear on the throttle shaft I will see how its like with the new parts. The bowl gasket was in real bad shape.float looked good and passed the warm water test,I will pick up the kit tomorrow and get it back together .
