What is the correct modern fluid now days to use in the hydraulic system on these tractors.

By the way, I'm in usually sunny Southern California.

(quoted from post at 03:13:20 01/03/17) Any fluid that meets MF Spec. M-1110, I use Traveller premium universal tractor trans/hydraulic fluid that's sold at tractor supply.

I use the same. I use it in the power steering, the loader, and the transmission.

I know you're supposed to use something like type A ATF in the loader and PS, but I've had no issues from using the UTF and it's nice to have fewer fluids to keep track of.

I went with Fluid that met M-1129A. About $10 per gallon at NAPA. The steering system on mine originally used type F xmsn fluid. Previous owner used current version of Type F, which is different, and all of the seals in the system ended up being like ramen noodles. I replaced all of the seals filled everything with M1129A and have had no issues since. Older seal composition does not tolerate synthetics at all. If the oil seems expensive it is a lot cheaper than seal kits. :)
