old fan belt broke, saw earlier posts that suggested putting new fan belt over the fan but not sure how to get it over the bottom wheel, seems like it may unbolt but I am no mechanic so I thought I should ask before diving in
any advice would be appreciated

Not an easy job, a lot of stretching to reach in there, but they un bolt from the pulley with left hand threads, then the shaft can go forward enough to put the belt around. BTW, 202's didn't come out till '58. Show us some pictures.

Do yourself a favor and buy a length of segmented v-belt. You won't have to remove anything and it will outlast a regular v-belt. Been using it for years with no problems. Available in many places bu I get it at McMaster Carr.

I did use a temporary belt for a few months, but thought I should use the real belt if I can do it
Thanks

I agree. If it is difficult to get the shaft from the front pump so that you can install a normal belt, then use the segmented v-belts, called accu-belts or power twist belt, and you will save yourself lots of time and countless frustration. I used one on a very powerful Case loader tractor because it was very difficult to remove the shaft from the front pump. It took about 3 minutes to install, and was going strong 5 years later when I sold the tractor. Never had a problem with it. 5' belt cost around $20 at Harbor Freight. It was the best $20 that I spent.

When I was setting up my new 14" band saw for use, I went by something I read on another forum. A lot of band saws have vibration in them which affects the cut. It was suggested that a segmented belt would work better than the often unbalanced regular belt.

The saw did have some vibration in it when I first got it. Then I put on the segmented belt and darned if it didn't take out all the vibration. It just doesn't seem logical that that lumpy looking belt would run smoother than a regular belt but it sure does.

Hi Tony, I mixed up the year of the Ferguson I am woking on with our other Ferguson , it is a 1958 Work Bull 202 with the broken fan belt

Had another job yesterday and could not start work on the fan belt, all my work will be done outside and supposed to snow, might be a while before I can do it
Any suggestions on how to stop the pulley from turning so I can get the bolts off?

(quoted from post at 14:58:30 01/05/17) Thanks I will keep that in mind

I needed to drain the radiator on my 202 and saw in the manual that the drain is right on the bottom of the radiator. But when I looked under there it look like it had amour plating protecting the radiator. I couldn't even see the drain let alone get to it.

I ended up using the petcock on the right side of the block. I still need to get at the gauges and hour meter. I don't know how the heck to get to the back of them. Compared to my 8N, this thing is not fun to work on.
