Friend of mine has a 1963 Massey Ferguson 50 high crop I believe, he needs the metal chin, under the power steering unit, very front bottom of radiator, and also the pitman arm from power steering unit, needs to be off a high crop I suspect, any leads would be great, thanks a lot, I will try to get serial number off it for help. Dusty

What do you mean by pitman arm? The steering parts high arch or
regular should be the same. Also the parts for a 65 are the same
to widen your search. I probably have the steering part. I can't
help you with the chin.

From the power steering unit behind grille, the "pitman arm" comes off the bottom, goes over the front axle in an arch, then the tie rods both attach to it, his is broke where tie rods affix, thanks. Dusty

I run a Tractor Restoration shop and am going through the same thing. After talking with many different people who are very knowledgeable regarding Ferguson tractors, (the one I am working on is the 50's twin, the Ferguson F40. I found a workable chin (Lower grille pan) at a company in the UK. Be aware that 40's and 50's made in the UK or for that market have the crank hole in them. I am still searching for several other parts, a couple of spin out wheel essentric bolts for the high crop wheels, they have 6 locks with a small square head (9/16). Also looking for the hood ornament, not even sure what that is supposed to look like, but the upper nose piece has the small screw holes for it, and I am told they came with something up there. Any help would be appreciated. Iron Horse Restoration 269-275-0309

Steve, there is an ornament that looks like an airplane on the hood. The early 65 uses the same one. They sell them on this site. The eccentrics shouldn't be hard to find. They are common to many MFs. I've got several around here under the snow. They can take a lot of heating and beating to get them apart.

Brendon, You're right about the heating and beating. I figured I would have to buy the entire bracket and get the bolts out myself. Let me know if you want to sell a couple.

I just read this again and think I messed up. I thought you were working on a 50. The 40 doesn't have a airplane on the hood but has a chrome 40 on the front. Sorry. There are some really nice 40 pictures down a few threads.

Ferguson 40. This is what the hood (40) looks like.

What's that in the back there? a radio antenna? How many stations you get? So if the battery's dead you can get news by carrier pigeon? Nice to get up to date weather reports while your out there cultivating the okra and rutabagas....
