444 belt pulley

The BP on my 444 runs all the time except when you push in the clutch, the PTO shuts on and off with the lever like it should. Anyone know what is causing this? Is there a fix or a way to disconnect it altogether. I would like to leave the pulley on if just for looks

Full time pulley is normal for 444.
The top shaft in the transmission case that drives pulley is also used as part of the hi/lo shift. The pulley could be kept for looks but never used by " doctoring" the innards of the pulley drive.

First I've ever heard of a full time pulley, but if thats the way they were made then thats the way i'll keep it , My 20 is that way but none of my others work like that. Thanks
