Hello,

Hoping a forum member can help me out. Trying to find out what the faces of the original gauges looked like for a Massey-Harris 50. Want to match aftermarket gauges as closely to the original as possible. Any pictures would be great. Thanks.

Just picked up one not long ago and ordered my gauges from YT.Will try and take you some pics of the ones on mine and post. Can't say if they are original or not but look to be.

Pics The oil guage was to far gone to read or tell color.

Thanks 2tractors. I'm thinking the tachometer and temperature gauge might be original. Ammeter looks replacement to me as I think I see an SW logo at the bottom. Aftermarket tachometers I see have "Ferguson" written under the curved bans which I bet is wrong for the Massey-Harris.

Working on a tractor for a guy who plans to restore it. Trying to help him out to make it as original as possible.

On a side note, he has the deluxe seat, and I see both black and gray cushions available. Anybody know what color they were originally? I think it is a 1956.

That seat cushion should be gold like the tractor chassis. We did one awhile back for a customer. Unless something has changed they are not available like that, so we took a brand new seat to a local upholsterer and he matched our color needs and used a red piping to match the sheet metal, absolutely beautiful, to bad he has since passed away. Good luck with that project, I think they are really nice when done up right, Dale

Thanks for the information guys. I will pass it along to the owner. I am doing some mechanical work for him and he is doing the body and paint. He'll probably have it done by fall as we have a local tractor show he always attends. I'll take pictures then and post.

I agree that the Ferguson and Massey-Harris-Ferguson tractors were pretty cool looking after they went away for the battleship gray. They had some interesting paint schemes in the '50's.

Steiner has excellent temperature gauges that look exactly like the originals. I have been around these all my life and the seat cushions were never gold they were all gray with red bead around edge whether they are M.H. or M.F. 50
