MF35 23C FUEL LINE QUESTION

I JUST AQUIRED A 35 AND IT CAME WITH THE HEATER FOR THE INTAKE BUT HAS NEVER BEEN INSTALLED. MY QUESTION IS WHERE IS THE HEATER SUPPOSED TO DRAW THE FUEL FROM? I CANT FIND ANY PICTURES OF THE COMPLETE SETUP. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

The top cover of the injection pump.. engine block side, almost by the return connector.
If its not hooked up, chances are you don't have that option on your injection pump..
I guess you could T it into the return line from the injectors..

First off, if the cylinder head has glow plugs it's a late model that did not use the thermostart. My 1958 came with the thermastart and there's a small tank the line feeds from at the right rear of the main fuel tank. The small tank is fed from the filter constant bleed line, keeps the small tank full, then fuel is returned to the main tank. Inlet manifolds on later tractors had a plug for the thermostart port. If you go to Agco parts and look up TO-35 as a guest user you should find how it's plumbed. Same system is also used on MF35, 50, and 65 diesel models.

THIS TRACTOR WAS ORIGINALLY EQUIPPED WITH THE COLD WEATHER HEAD THAT HAD THE GLOWPLUGS. THAT HEAD CRACKED AND THE REPLACEMENT HAS NO GLOWPLUGS SO IM JUST TRYING TO GET THIS GEARED UP FOR COLD WEATHER STARTING

Had one of those with the thermostart, but it didn't help much. Finally installed a heater in the lower rad hose, and that worked down to about zero.

She was a cold blooded critter, even after new pistons and sleeves. Later posts here suggested that the compression might have been a bit low from valve grinding.
