I'm looking for advice on how to put a new rim on a Massey Ferguson Model 35 Deluxe (TO-35). Not sure what year it is, but the engine serial number is Z134 707081. The tractor belonged to my grandfather and I used to drive it on the farm when I was younger and I've recently been able to glom onto it. One of the rear wheels was rotted out (leaky ballast) and I need to replace the rim in order to get it up and running again. I was able to order a 12x24 replacement rim that is the same size as the original, but the loops on the new rim don't line up w/ the holes on the old center plate -- the loops on the rim are set at about a half-inch larger radius than the holes on the center hub. My brother is lobbying to build an adapter ring to tie everything together, but I have to believe that there's a way to do this w/o breaking out the cutting torch. Can anyone offer any suggestions or advice? I'll post a photo once I sort out the mechanism for doing so (I'm new to this forum).
Thanks for your help.
Ron
