IH tractor or newer tractor

So I'm thinking about buying a new tractor and I dont know if i should buy a newer tractor for 20k or just buy a IH for around 5-10k. I'm looking around the HP of 40-70. On the older IH tractors i like the 656,666,706 those style of tractors and on the new tractor kubota, john deere going to pick 38-45hp; just because that cost alot more money. For what i'll be using the tractor for is running a PTO tiller, disk, bushhog. For making food plots at my camp.
If anyone wants to put some input on which tractor they would recommend.

Do you think a 2014 F150 4x4 would be able to haul it with no problem. With either a 6ft disk or tiller.

Not a 6610, too heavy. A MF35, MF135, or a MF235 (with the Perkins ad3.152 diesel). I run a 84" shredder behind my 135, and has no problems with a 6' disk. Parts are plentiful, relatively cheap, and pretty easy to work on. It's about the right size tractor for what you are going to use it for, and your F150 can haul it with your 6' disk, or bush hog hooked to it. A 6610 you would need at least a F250 to haul it.

I own,operate and maintain a Massey Ferguson FE-35 X, John Deere 520,Case 610B with a 188 Engine and a Ferguson Tea-20.

"ptfarmer" is correct as to parts, and not bad to service...MF 35,135,etc, Diesel 3 cylinder Perkins. These tractors come with six forward gears and two reverse (3 speed on main shifter, high and low on second shifter). Some of these MF have a differential lock/posse track. Engine Sips fuel! 24" rear ties are not super expensive. Be sure to check that the tractor you purchase has LIVE PTO and three point operates properly....my FE 35 X on the dyno. at standard PTO produces 44 HP. Has plenty of torque to pull 3 bottom 14" plough deep in 3 rd gear low range and many times in 1 st high range.

My TEA-20 is NOT geared properly(4 speed) for the three point brush mower, nor the three point hitch rotor tiller. It does not have live PTO....it's also 1950 vintage.

JD 520 is a great TRACTOR however, I like it for pulling not PTO work.

Case 610B with the 188 engine is a Case O-matic, devourers gasoline, and is used as a LOADER TRCATOR only.

Yeah a while back I was looking at the MF135 because I already have a MF to-30. Needs a new carb, dist. I just don't feel like it has the power and the PTO is not live.

I agree with the MF info below and also even the MF 165 /175 50-63hp 4 cyl Perkins. Another thing that at least I take into account is depreciation. The '70,s tractors are free to use. By that I mean if it's in nice shape and you keep it that way, it will never cost you anything to use it. It will sell for same amount you paid for it even 5-10 yrs later. A 4-5-$ 6000 MF will still bring that whenever you may decide to change or update to cab tractor or whatever happens. Try that with ANY of the "suburbanite" compact "tin" lightweight tractors. My buddy has a 30 hp Ford/New Holland 4wd he bought new back in 2000 with loader & blade& mower. Doesn't use mower much , tractor too light to do much with loader. basically just "putter" with it. Paid $ 20,000 for it then and can't even push wet snow with it and worst of all it's now worth maybe $5-$ 6000 at most. Don't know about others but I , for one, can't afford that kind of whippin on anything. That being said, if you can't at least do some basic maintenance/repairs than buy new and just work enough hours to pay for the privilege.

...almost forgot..you apparently are leaning IH. My neighbor just bought a very nice low hour 1968 IH 444 with IH loader w/ all new hoses and all 4 brand new tires. It's pretty close to 50 hp and built pretty heavy. 3pt , hyd outlets, live power etc. Very nice modern looking utility tractor I'd be proud to own. Starts , runs and operates excellent .Paid $ 7700 . This tractor will be FREE for him to use when & if he ever decides to sell it.

I have a MF2135 industrial (a MF135 painted yellow), it has the same Continental 4 cylinder gas engine as the TO35, and its gutless compared to my MF135 with the ad3.152 Perkins diesel. If you can find a MF with the ad3.152 diesel get it, it should have either live pto, or independent pto. Just beware that some (although I've never seen one) don't have live pto, and some tractors did have a gas version of a Perkins 3.152. The MF230, 240, and 245 also came with the ad3.152 diesel (they are all pretty much the same tractor).

This tractor is only a few miles from where I live. I know if only has 2 pics but seems to be in good shape.

Without loader, I would believe so, with loader and attachment, that is a load.

Best to take tractordata.com weight for tractor, add trailer, implement, then check truck data.
