MF1135 multipower dash lever froze up

Just got MF35 gas with multipower, took both hands to pry dash lever from Lo (down) up to Hi (engine braking). Multipower works well and linkage is free ad easy to move until it goes to the dash level, I tried to pry the knob off the lever so the assembly could be removed from inside dash but it will not come off. I am thinking of adding
something like a lawnmower throttle lever to the linkage instead. The multipower shaft than goes into the transmission/motor housing goes up or down for Hi or low, is
this a critical adjustment that needs calibration? seems like it's just up or down with about 3/4" travel.

New to MF tractors. What is multipower?

Someone else could answer you better, basicly it lets you shift to higher or lower range on the go, no clutch needed.

Multi-power is a extra high, and low range in the transmission (think of it as a 2 speed automatic) it can be shifted on the go under a load. A tractor with a 6 x 2 speed transmission the multi-power makes it a 12 x 4 speed transmission. Other tractor manufacturers have something similar, one may call it power-shift, or other such name.

Thank you for the info.

Only bad thing about multi-power is when its in low range you don't have engine braking if you are going down hills. My brother has a MF150 with multi-power, I sure miss the multi-power (my 135 doesn't have it).
