Correction on engine switch to 165

Maybe agcopartsbook shows one case for 180. 3# for 175 with one in common with 180. one of the 175 cases is the same as 165. I would get case # off both tractors if possible and see if they cross to same #

The 165 has the Perkins ad4.203 (about 59 hp). The 180 has the Perkins d4.236 (about 71 hp). The transmission housing is the same. I think it can be done, just put the two engines side by side, and do some measuring/comparing. Some parts may need to be modified, if the engine of the 180 is part of a parts/salvage tractor that can help.

Need to know what engine was in the 165 originally, the front castings were changed according to the parts list. There were three engines for the 165, Continental G176, Perkins AD4.203, or Perkins AG4.212. If it was the AG4.212 the 180 Perkins 236 will bolt right in. Tach drive was from the generator or alternator rear on the 180, AD4.203 was off the cam rear.
