what should i offer for a mf 50 diesel, has antifreeze in radiator, needs tires motor not stuck, good sheet metal.

I bought a MF 50 gasser a few months go that runs good, has pwr steering, good sheet metal, very good tires, clutch is iffy but works and brakes and lights work.

I paid 2600.00.

This tractor looks good but i worry about it running again without alot of expience so trying to get idea of a price to offer without offending the guy. also will need tire. Diesels are very costly to fix. and I dont know if its a 50 or super 90.

A 50 diesel would have a three cylinder engine. A super 90 would have a four cylinder if that would help to figure what it is.

A Super 90 is a whole lot bigger than a 50. A 50 standard would most likely have 14.9 x 24 or 13.6 x 28 rear tires. Most Super 90s were on 18.4 x 30 rear tires, although some were on 38s. Look in the tractor photo gallery to the left to see what they look like.

Sometimes offending folks is unavoidable. Some folks think every thing they have is gold, and every thing you have is pig iron. I figure what the item is worth in good running condition and then start subtracting what it obviously needs to fix. I paid $1000 for my 135, with some trading, it came to $800 out of pocket. The friend I got it from said he was going to get it running and ask $1500. I said how about you drop it at my house for $1000 and you don't have to mess with anything. He was happy. Since I got it I've been watching Massey's. My neighbor in WV has a 165 he ran a stick through the radiator a number of years ago. Just parked it and let it sit. Saw him while hunting a couple weeks ago. He said he wants $1500. But every thing he has is junk, and I doubt he ever took care of it. I'm gonna offer $800 for it. If he takes it good, if not, good, there are a lot of them out there. Keep an eye open, good luck, Joe.

This is the one I paid $1000 for, I've got $350-$400 more in it and I'm very happy with it, Joe.

I paid 1200 for a non runner MH 50 a month or so ago but it had real nice rubber and rims. I had it running in a couple hours.
