Anyoen knwo what this gear is for?

Bought a set of Massey Harris 9 X 32 rear rims and this gear is bolted on to the wheel weights. Not a home made job as the clips and bolts match up with the indents in the weights and the gear just fits over the outside edge of the wheel weight.

Could this have been the drive gear for some kind of front mounted planter drive?

Thanks for any help you can give me

The MH 50 I bought a few months back came with a 3 point- 2 row planter, and a gear a lot like yours was on the left wheel (28") of the tractor- and it does seem to line up- providing the rim is dish out for the job.

I think the fellow you bought it from should have told you what it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You two have a good trip home ? Was a
pleasure meeting you guys.

I forgot to ask . what all models will the transmission and rear end fit on whats left of the tractor. Its a 20 right?

It as a pleasure getting to meet you and visit with you. Yes, what you have left is a 20. The 20, 81 and 22 are pretty much the same however, the 22 is 1/2 inch longer in the frame and hood. I found that out the hard way!
