mf135 ,z145 choke bracket mounting to carburetor issue

This is a MF 135,Continental Z145.4cyl Gas .
I just replaced my carburetor TSX882 for a TSX683. The problem I have is the Choke bracket that attaches to the carburetor wont line up (sits on valve shaft loosely and no hole to screw it secured, just a peg sticking up).The difference is the old carb. has a molded ring that the valve shaft is in and fits diameter of a hole in choke bracket and has a screw hole to secure choke bracket. My question is do I have the wrong carb. or is there a way to secure the choke bracket to get this rebuild in the field. Thanks in advance

Some carb's had an L bracket made out of 1/8" X 1/2" material that was anchored to one of the corner screws that held the carb together. You might try to fashion one up.
