My first tractor

New to the site ,first post. Recently bought a 61(I think) mf35 with a mf loader . Needs work , engine turns over no spark. Drive shaft for loader needs help, as the holes are egged badly ,rubber bushings are badly worn-out. Seems the only way to remove shaft is to remove front end. Shifter stuck in neutral . Other normal repairs due to sitting 10 years. Any help is appreciated, this is my first tractor.

Shifter stuck is usually an easy fix , remove the gear stick and realign the shifter gates , this is fairly obvious when you look down the hole . The ball end of the stick is most likely worn and needs building up with some weld .

The shaft to the crank from the pto 'should' come apart- with a selection of wrenches- and patience.. if not, just the pump may need to be pulled ahead. every manufacturer - and previous owner... makes it different...

No spark means the points need to be cleaned and or replaced then set to the correct gap. Common problem on any engine with point that has sat for any length of time. I picked up a Case VAC a couple months ago and I winched it on the trailer and drove it off less then an hour later just by fixing the fuel line and cleaning the points

The pump shaft unscrews from the coupler that's on the front pulley. The pump shaft has left hand threads that screw into the coupler instead of the more common right hand threads.

Well things are moving along, turns out shifter rods were rusted and stuck . I
removed the trans top cover and soaked everything with Kroil ,freed up with
tapping forward and back . Cleaned up the detects and Springs. New shifter boots
and all is good. Next mission replace crank pulley and front output shaft.
