MF 283 Clutch Help!!

Does anyone know for sure if the 12" clutch assembly from a 283 UK will work correctly in place of the 13" in a 283 Brazil?

I borrowed the tractor from my dad, and lost all ability to operate the PTO or stop the tractor, separated it and found that the first disc behind the flywheel is shredded. The prices I have seen for the 13" clutch are double or more of the 12" assembly. I intend to replace pretty much everything except the transmission shaft and flywheel. I'm not necessarily trying to be cheap on the repair, but if a $300 clutch kit will work, I'd rather not spend $600 for one. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I order one.

If the 13" disk only needs re-lining you could take it to a shop that re-lines brake shoes, and clutch disks for heavy trucks, and industrial equipment. It should cost a lot less than buying a new disk. They could, or should be able to re-build the entire clutch assembly if it doesn't need a lot of major parts.

Two of the arms (for lack of knowledge of technical term) that the friction material is riveted to are broken off - I'll check and see if there is
anyone remotely local to where I am that deals with them and see what the say. Thanks!
