Sold our 285 2 weeks ago, still have the 1000 rpm stub shaft and a few other things like a 2"drop drawbar. Anybody interested? Should work with the 1080 & 1085 if I recall.

Auction. Dad's done farming so everything went. Some things we held out because we really didn't see them adding much value in the sale.

The extra drawbar was bought when the 4"drop snapped. I welded it up again and used it for atleast 5 years since with no issues. Used the other one then for the hydro swing and kept the hitch plate mounted to it.

sorry to hear. conventional milk prices down too low too long. not taking any new producers in central ny. organic only 2 companies looking. sad state of affairs.

It's got other reasons around it.he seemed to be doing alright with the milk prices, he just switched co-ops less than a year ago and was actually getting quite a bit more with a better starting price and less in trucking. I think he said it came to almost $2.50-$3 difference per hundred.

Just other circumstances and problems so he just threw in the towel.

(quoted from post at 23:50:38 11/23/16) If someone else don't need the pto shaft, I am interested, looking to buy a 285 or a 1080 someday.

One of those things that makes a handy tractor even better. Dad thought I was nuts when I found it and chased after it, but then in the end I think he was pretty glad I got it. Used it a couple times to run the forage harvester to open corn fields, and also on the roller pump spraying corn to get more pressure and volume at lower rpms.

I've honestly never seen another, and plenty of guys had 285's in the neighborhood.

i had a mf super 90 w/ perkins engine. super on fuel, great gear ratios, good for pulling forage wagons cus low to ground. that is good. bad was no traction. terrible to
spread in winter snows. traded it towards ac 7080. have mf 1100 and like it.
