OK I have the Coil and ballast Resistor....

The Tractor is currently (negative Ground) Should I change it to (positive ground) or leave it alone and if so what do I have to do to convert it other than rotate the battery 180 degs. ? Thank you all for the info.....

Why do you think it needs to be changed?

How long has it been negative ground? What do you have for charging system, alternator or generator???

If it has alternator, leave it negative ground

If it has generator and has been working ok, leave it alone.

Just because a tractor was born positive ground does not mean it must stay that way if the positive to negative ground conversion was properly configured.

Best if you give us more info like what tractor is it. Was it 6 volt form the factory and been switched to 12 volts etc. If it has an alternator and you hook it up + ground you will let the smoke out of the alternator the moment you hook it up so DO NOT switch the ground or your likely to spend some $$. Lack of info makes it near impossible for us to help you help yoru self

OK installed the coil and the resistor started up ran great, plowed the driveway put it back in the garage, yesterday took it out so I could work in garage went to start it up to put back would NOT START!!!!!!!! I am again at a loss! Help!

OK never mind, the older I get the more dumb I am becoming....... the coil spring the allows the choke to flop came off I hooked it up and the tractor fired right up..... I made a bend in the spring so as to keep it on....
