Any experience out there with using a self exciting
Plug-in voltage regulator to get a delco 10dn alternator to start charging at idle speed? I am trying to avoid having to rev the tractor to initiate charging, while at same time use the oem 10dn since it runs the tachometer also. Would like to avoid going to a smaller pulley, so that the tach remains accurate. Thanks!

I did that plug-in diode thing on a Delco 10SI alternator, fixed it perfectly. Cheap[, simple, it charges right on starting, no need to rev up, then it tapers off perfectly. Got mine from Charlie Uthke, From Charlie Uthke, Charlie's Repair, 22195 State Hwy 56, Austin, MN? 55912 [email protected]
