I got everything unhooked, removed the injectors and nuts on head bolts. Head does not want to budge ? I got a hoist on the head with chains
and a little lifting pressure on it. Any ideas out there ? Dick

From BigDean's old website.
Stuck Heads
The Perkins engines head gasket will sometimes leak between the center head bolts & the cylinder.
Causing carbon to build up around the studs to the point that you can raise the front wheel off the ground by lifting on the head. Especially on 3-152 & the 4-203 engines. The other engines will do this to but not near so bad. I always used
a cherrypicker or a hoist i would put a little strain on them & used a 2X4 against the side of the head & hit it a few times to shake it loose. I have spent as much as 2 hours getting a head
off of one of these engines. I have never had to this but I have heard of cases where the studs had to be drilled out to get the head off.

I got all the nuts off. I have a little lift pressure on the head with a cherry picker. I sprayed the studs with some Kron rust remover. I am gone till
next Tuesday. Maybe a little pressure for 3-4 days may break it loose while I am gone ? Dick

As suggested, lifting force in place, prybars at both ends of the head, one under the thermo housing, and the other CAREFULLY on the tacho drive housing, and "jiggle" each bar...... it'll come off with persistance.
