A little confused here.

I recently acquired a MF202 workbull. People are telling me that it is the industrial version of the MF35 I believe my 202 is a 1958. It no longer has the serial number plate on the dash. But I got the date from the serial number on the engine. I'm told it was manufactured in 1958.

But anyway, I've seen a couple pics of 35's and they clearly show no power steering pump as in the pic posted in the "MF35 Transmission" thread. His tractor is 2 years newer than my Workbull so how come it has no power steering? Was it something optional?

Unlike my 1960 in the post you're referring too you're '58 202 was the industrial model of the 35. Not sure if PS was standard on the 202. Steve may mean it was optional on both models.

All 202's and MF35 Utilitys are classified as industrial tractors. As such, they all have the heavy duty front axle and proper power steering. Many MF35 agricultural tractors had power assist steering, where the power came through the steering box. It works, but it's not ideal and not as easy to steer as our Utilities and 202s.

Put a front end loader on a regular MF35 AG tractor and all of a sudden that steering isn't worth anything, nor will the AG front axle support much weight compared to the industrial machines.

Wont let me edit:

I forgot to add, the regular AG 35s had no hydraulic cylinders to push the steering around. The only power assist was in the steering box.
