MF3060 Hi-Lo range problem

Good morning everyone,
Our recently acquired 3060 is throwing its first wobbly. Left home on Sunday to go on a charity roadrun only to find
that it was stuck in the 'Tortoise' range with no light showing. Research indicates that the problem can be
something as simple as a bad connection in a block connector. Certainly hoping that it is not a ECU problem. Working
my way through the block connectors as found and following the wiring diagram from the MF manual. All fuses checked
and OK but I'm having thoughts about a faulty key switch preventing power from getting to the Hare/Tortoise circuit.
Anyone had a similar problem with a 3000 or 3100 series?
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

On the North American tractor there are separate fuses for the transmission control unit. They are in the battery area. Inline fuse holders if I remember correctly. Have you checked those?

Hello,
I owe ya a big one! Seems the the UK and European tractors have the same fuses for the Autotronic, front PTO and electronic lift. I had done a cursory check on the 3 fuse holders situated in front of the battery and would have been something that I would have checked further after completing checks around the back end. On closer inspection the 3 fuse holders had been replaced with cheapish blade holder ones. It soon became clear that the blade terminals and wire terminals were quite badly corroded. Rather than try and clean them I have replaced the 3 with ones with a sealing cap and also a broken earth wire although this had been rewired slightly.
After switching the key on I had an immediate 'tortoise' light and instant 'hare' when changing ranges whereas the 'hare' was always a bit slow illuminating. I am absolutely delighted that it is not a problem with the ECU!!!!
Thanks again for your suggestion.
