MF 150 Temp Gauge

MF 150 gas manual Temp gauge quit
working. I've never had one go bad!
Radiator full. Gauge doesn't move.
Anyone had this happen? I have another
one to replace it, just wondering!
 
Could be the thermostat is stuck open, and engine is running cooler than normal. I test mechanical temp gauges on the stove top burner in water with a meat thermometer next to the sensing bulb. Test thermostats that way too. Gauges do go bad at times..
 
I had a similar problem with mine on a TO35. bought new gauge remove old one and put both in a pot of boiling water. Strange enough they both worked and showed same temp. I did have to apply extra muscle to remove old one. So I put old one back but just snugged it up and it works fine till this day. My only thought was that the original was too to tight and might have moved the crimp at the bulb. I really don't have an answer but it worked for me. Put the old one in a pot of boiling water and see what happens.

I loosened the nut holding the bulb in place, snugged it back in place and now it is working ?? :roll: ?? Don't know why :!:

Same here, manual gauge. stranger things have happened.
