MF 175 injectors

When I pulled the injectors on my 175, 3 of the 4 were black with soot and one was perfectly clean. The cylinder with the clean injectors was wet inside while the others were dry. Is the clean injector stuck open and possibly causing the knock?

You cas reinstall the nozzle and fill the male fitting where the injection line hooks up with Wd40 or some diesel fuel. Just enough to fill in the fitting. Roll the engine over with the starter. If this nozzle is stuck open the WD40 will shoot back out, or at least bubble up. Al

Another quick check for an injector with a tip that's stuck open, use your shop air blow gun on the injector inlet. When you give it a blast there should be NO air blow through and out the tip. If the tip is really clean engine may have compression loss trouble, and not burning the fuel. While the engine was running, did you loosen each line and see if the speed and sound changed any on each cylinder? With the injectors out, and fuel stop off crank the engine with the starter. Listen closely for any engine noises, if the injectors are OK you may have other internal trouble.
