'76 MF 265 Diesel - What is this plug?

Looking over the tractor, this plug is on the rear left side of the engine. Not sure what is, I can't find it anywhere in the book or on the agco online books either. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough?

(quoted from post at 18:38:42 10/21/16) my tractor has a block heater in it. Can get a cord from agco dealer

That's what I was thinking. Would this be the right cord: http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Massey-Ferguson-265_Heater-Engine-Block_773323M1.html ?

The picture has thrown me off ... Assuming the heater element is on the other side.

Looks like this is a Tisco GE11461 block heater (https://smile.amazon.com/TISCO-PART-GE11461-ENGINE-HEATER/dp/B00BW5LPCO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481226532&sr=8-1&keywords=GE11461) ... At least thats what it looks like. I should be able to measure the dimensions this weekend...

Anyone know of a place you can just get a cord for it?

You sure you have a block heater in that port? Looking at the service book I have, the pictures don't look like its a frost plug. But oddly enough the book talks about everything else but frost plugs. I took a picture from the book, will try to upload tomorrow, so it seems it could be the block heater... I did put a ohm meter across the two prongs this evening and got about a 65.5 reading (which seemed high for a 400 watt heater -- though it could be a higher wattage I guess).

The timco cord I ordered for it, the timco guy said it would be a model "H" cord, doesn't fit... It is made for a 3 prong.

Wondering if I should just replace whole assembly with new heater... But if it's not a frost plug.... What size? Do I need to be careful about obstructions on the other side?

At times, I have been accused of not being overly bright. What would happen if you just cut off the end of an extension cord and crimped matching connectors to it? I've had all kinds of chargers, drills, etc, that could plug in either way. Would polarity matter? Joe.

I've been accused of the same, don't worr! lol that's actually why I put the ohm meter on it to see resistance. I think it would be fine.... of coarse there is always the risk I guess of electrifying the entire tractor....

There ya go. Grab the extension cord from behind the wife's night table, cut off a 2-4 inch pig tail. Clean the plug out nice, crimp connectors on, then squeeze some silicone or other permanent filler in to keep the new connectors from pulling out. I've also used the black stuff you dip screw driver handles in to seal plugs, Joe.

Yup. That's the plan for the weekend lol. Since i got 65.5 ohms from the ohm meter, looks like it must be a 220 watt heater... less than I thought it would be.

But I ordered a plug that doesn't fit - think I'll just be modifying it to work... After I make sure those prongs don't short out to the block lol.
