Rebuilt the motor in my MH 60 PT combine. Just started it today. Questions -
1) The governor does not run the engine up to 2200 rpm at fast idle. 1550 was as fast as it would go. If I pulled on the governor arm (Pierce) it would speed up. The governor arm does not touch the throttle linkage at WOT. Will adjusting the governor fix this ?
The original governor had a bad bearing on the input end but everything else looked okay. I pulled the front plate and bearing from a frozen up governor and installed it in this one. The bearing was okay, actually much better than the one that was in the original governor.
2) When would you do the first oil change ? I'm running Brad Penn 20-50 (and assembly lube) right now. So far I ran it for about 25 minutes at 1550 rpm and retorqued the head.
BTW I see that Massey recommended a different head torquing sequence than Continental.
Thanks guys.
Greg
