Have a MH 30 that quit running.
Here is the summary:
- when the key is turned on the volt meter pegs negative. It is 12 volt negative ground
- the power get to the coil. when the test light it pu the the coil output and the engine is turned over it flashes on and off
-it has a Petronix unit
- when the Petronix unit is disconnected and the key is turned on the volt meter does not go to negative
Another issue, which I am unsure if it is related. With the key turned on and the starter peg pushed the started does nothing. Power is getting to the starter ( the ol test light). I remover
the starter and just used cables and the starter spins over and the bend goes forward. I have cleaned the mating surface of the block/ starter case to ensure ground and it still does
nothing.
So, do you think the petonix unit is bad? the coil? is the starter issue related?
I appreciate all comments and suggestions
