i have all the o- rings and seals in my 2705 three speed shift replaced. when i put air in the three ports one of them the air comes out the centre shaft and i can turn it by hand the other i can turn
by hand and a piston engages and the third port the straight jic fitting engages a piston and i cannot turn the shaft by hand, is this normal? assuming it was normal since the pistons both engaged i
began to put the shift back in the hole and i fought with it for hours but could only get it butted up is there a secret to getting it in or do i just have to fight with it more?

The input assembly can be fun to get back in place. When in intermediate there's NO oil going to any clutch pack, intermediate is locked with spring pressure. Oil pressure is used to lock the low and high packs, and when either is selected then the intermediate is also released with oil at the same time.

got it in position but its about a quarter inch away from being bolted tight into the hole and it wont go any further am i missing something?

If you are referring to the powershift unit going into the rear housing of the tractor thats as far as it goes there will be about a quarter inch all the way around the housing. It looks like it should butt up against the housing all the way but it doesnt.I scratched my head on that one for a while too.
