Just got a MF 135 1969 with a cont. 4 cyl gas engine home today and have started to realize that every thing about this tractor seems to be the original parts. Every thing works but voltage gauge so far and tractor has not been abused that i can tell, looks rough as far as rusty because its never been painted and orig stickers on even the shifting pattern sticker is on the fender. The batt, oil filter and tires are all i see changed so far, generator was rebuilt a year ago and tach shows 7424 hrs. Runs as good as it can with old plugs and wires thats on it,pto ,lift all work and has enough power to run a 5 ft bush hog that came with it. Would this tractor be worth more to be restored at this time or for me to use as just another old tractor to use untill wears out ?

Welcome! It's more of personal preference in my
opinion. If you can do all the work yourself you'd do
ok if your paying to have everything done to resell it
you'll be behind on the deal.

thanks for the welcome, i am happy with my purchase of this old tractor. I have two ac tractors that was my grandfathers a WD45 and a C model still in original condition that he actually farmed with but i needed something with a 3 pt lift. The man i got the 135 from was getting up in his years and was letting all his equipment go with the sale of the tractor so i am set up to work. I now have 5 pieces of 3 pt equipment, a bush hog,box scrape.disk, spring tooth, and turn plow all in good shape.Tractor and all for less than 4K so i think i got a good deal, I will be turning my garden as soon as the sun comes up in the am

If it is a continental engine, I think it will be a early 1967 or older. I THINK THEY WENT TO THE 3 CYL. perkins about the middle of 67. I have a 4 cyl 135 that my Dad bought new in Dec. 1965. Mine has 2700 hrs. and original paint and never been overhauled. I have the same questions. I haven't restored it because I don't know if it would help or hurt it. I just bought a 1969 model with the 3 cyl. Perkins gas that is partly apart and don't run. I will redo it first and then decide.

Put a little work into it, make it nice, and you won't ever need to buy another tractor.

Pictures are of my 1967 MF 150 before (May 2007) and after (Oct 2007). I needed a good tractor that I could trust. So I took on this complete rebuild and $6500 (including purchase) later I have a tractor that I know what was done and what was not. All labor was done myself with the exception of engine sleeves, crank grind and head work. Yep, I went a little overboard for a working tractor, but I couldn't purchase a new one in this HP class for the price. Plus it was fun doing all the work myself.

BTW, the first scratch, ding was the worst :).

Yes you are correct , after checking number plate with tractor data it is a 66. It was advertised for sale as a 69 and i think the owner honestly thought it was. I looked over a lot of tractors over 4 months now and there are some real money traps for sale out there. There is a 235 for sale near by that has 240 sheet metal and stickers advertised as a 85 240. The ser num plate is missing of course. This tractor caught my eye because all the implements came with it. Made it seem like there was no hidden issues with the tractor he was just no longer had the need for it all anymore
