MF 243 fuel filter

My MF 243 does not have a fuel shut off and my tank is full. How do I change the fuel filter without loosing a lot of fuel? Thanks in advance for your response.

Do not know, but it seems almost unlikely for someone to design a fuel system like that. Are you sure? What does the manual say?

The manuel says to do the change quickly and if you need more time to clamp the fuel line. I can't believe that it has no shut off. I was thinking maybe the fact that the fuel pump is in between that it will not drastically pour fuel out. Any thoughts?

I am just going to go for it! Hope I can move fast enough to avoid a lot of drained fuel. MF sure missed it on the 243. I thought the easy to clog strainer on the fuel shut off in the 231S was bad enough but I will take that over no fuel shut off at all. Thanks to all of you who took time to respond.

For the assistance of future fuel filter changers, I did remove the fuel from tank even though the drain after removing the filter as slow and easy to contain. Also I was slow due to the working around my frontend loader. I found it makes it easier also to take off the oil filter to give more room to work. MF sure missed it on this one and I found you can replace the entire canister with a screw on filter modification from A company called Foley but quite expensive. thought someone may want to know this. thanks to all who took time to assist,

Google search for. SFA11 filter assembly with delphi 496A screw on filter port size 1/2"-20 UNF

Well worth the money (and I think cheaper) to switch over with no adaptors. I put one on my 135.
