hello from a newbie tractor owner, granfather passed away awhile back and he left me his pride and joy,it hasn't ran much in the past few years ,he bought it new back in 1973.I got it home a few weeks ago and been using it daily around the yard, any ways a few days ago it developed a fuel leak where the fuel pump(I think its the fuel pump)hooks onto the injector housing,i was wondering if there is an o-ring between the 2 and if its an easy fix. Thanks

The fuel pump, or lift pump as it's called is on the right side of the engine (same side as the starter). The line then runs around the back of the engine to the fuel filter(s). Then it goes from the filter(s) to the injector pump. If you could post a picture of where the leak is we can probably help you better.

its leaking at the injector pump on the right hand side beside the lower vent plug ,where the injector lines hook in,i relplaced the 2 washers that hold the bottom injector inplace ,but I'm thinking its leaking where the pump hooks up to the housing if that makes sence.ill grab a picture tomorrow (still at work),thanks

Ok, I see what you are talking about, yes the head of the injector pump where the injector lines come out, and go to the injectors that part does slide out of the injector pump body. There is an o-ring that seals the pump head to the body. Since the tractor sat I would have the injector pump resealed because there is also a internal seal in the injector pump that can start leaking fuel into the crankcase. Removing, and installing the injector pump back to where is was in same position (timed) isn't too difficult.

A BIG Xs TWO on ptfarmers advice, best to reseal the complete pump. It's probably original, and I've been seeing more drive seals leaking fuel into the crankcase lately..
