Any suggestions on adjusting the two stage clutch on my MF 283?
When i get the pto to engage the clutch slips.

if you are referring to the pto clutch slipping it is worn out or the bellville spring has lost it tension from being overheated

No what i'm referring to is when i adjust the clutch to keep from grinding gears while engaging pto, the the transmission slips and tractor wont pull it's self out of it's tracks.

Put the clutch pedal back to where it was so the clutch doesn't slip, there should be around 3/4" free play in the clutch pedal. There should be a plate on the bottom of the bell housing that is held on with 4 bolts, that is the access cover to allow you to adjust the clutch. The adjustment on the clutch may fix your problem, or you may need to replace the clutch if the adjustment doesn't do the trick. There is 3 bolts on the clutch you adjust, the clearance between the bolt, and the clutch should be .080" - .090".

Here is a picture that will show where you need to adjust the clutch.
