I have a 1970's MF 165 and have been trying to change the oil. The manual and local mechanic say the drain should be on the side, but there is nothing there. There is a very flat warn bolt at the back of engine (first photo). It has been blocked by the front bucket supports. I just removed the bucket to get at the oil.
Is this correct plug? It has a very low profile and is indented into the body. Difficult to get a grip on. There is another more accessible side plug further back(second photo), but suspect this is not the engine oil.
I apologize for my ignorance, this is my first and only attempt at engine maintenance. The tractor is on an island and difficult to barge off for service.
Thanks
