Ok, i used my small digital camera with it's macro lens to get in there a take pictures of the engine plate.

It's a Continental Z134 engine

Serial number 666670

Can anyone tell me how to find the year it was made?

On my 1965 MF 2135 industrial the Z134 engine is serial number on it is 749322, which I'm pretty sure its the original engine to my tractor. That's as close as I can get between engine serial number to year model.

Also after going back looking at the pictures, and other things you posted 1962 was the last year they mounted the ignition, and light switch on the dash. In 1963 they took the switches off the dash, and put them on a small panel beneath the dash on the left hand side. With the Cessna power steering pump on it I'm thinking its a 1962.[/i]

The guy I bought it from said he "thought" it was a 1962. I kind of wish my key switch was mounted on a seperate panel like that. My switch is kind of funky. When turning on the key, you have to wiggle it a little before it will turn over, so I'll be needing to replace that switch. I haven't looked that close but it looks like there is no way to get at it easily. I hope I don't have to remove the whole hood to get at it.

Just about everything behind the dash is a bear to get to. I think I have one of those brackets for the ignition/light switches laying around somewhere if you are intrested.

Thanks for the offer but I don't know when I'll be able to get to it. Since I'll have to get to the wires anyway, I might just as well replace it in the original place.

I need to get that 3 point lift working right first.
