fuel injector pump

Question: after a lengthy process of trouble shooting my Massey Ferguson 165 perkins diesel I figured out it needed a fuel injector lift pump. However after purchasing a new pump I swapped the old pump out with the new one pump only to discover the threaded stems that come off front of the new pump are a 1/2" shorter than than the one I replaced therefore the existing fuel lines are short and cannot be connected the new pump. Just wondering if anyone has run into this and what the fix would be.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

With the engine serial number prior of 29F4249 uses lift pump 892630M91. Engines with serial number 29F4249 and up uses lift pump 886100M91.

I've never had a lift pump were the ports were 1/2" shorter than the old one.
