202 Industrial Workbull Hydraulics Number Two

I should have asked this in my first post but since we can't edit our posts here I had to make a second post.

Are there any personal experience hints about pulling that top cover off before I go at it. I have both brands of service manuals they sell here but I was wondering if anyone had first hand knowledge hints that the manual doesn't tell you?

I wish they made a CD about rebuilding the hydraulics like they do on the 8N.

Do you really need to pull the top cover off ? Your tractor's symptoms sound as if they might be caused by a stiff or sticking control valve .

OK, so how do I try to rectify this? As I said, I just got this 202 workbull and everything on it is new to me.

I believe BIG DEAN had a CD devoted to early Industrials, 202,203&204's.Good Luck trying to find a copy. Maybe someone out there
can help.

Sorry but I have no idea who Big Dean is.

A manual is really a good idea , there is a filter next to the pump that may well be clogged up as well . Open the right hand dipstick cover and look down into the casing , the oil will need to be drained .[u:36f2eef3f5] Don't [/u:36f2eef3f5]put you hand in there when it is running. The filter looks like an upright drink can with lock wire on top . The valve just needs a flick with a finger to see if it is stuck or really stuck , it's the one attached to the lift linkages. Otherwise grit might be holding valves inside the pump partially open . The manual is really the starting point .

So, I imagine the top cover needs to be removed to change the filter?
