MF 85 PTO/Power steering not working

Ok so we change the fluids and changed the one filter and cleaned the filter up under the gas tank. Guy said it tried to work when he first fired it up and then stopped and he could hear a whine in the Power steering area.
Some one said there was a screen behind the power steering plate on the right side but the I-T manual does not show one there.
Does any body have a picture of it so I can then explain to him what and where??
Thanks

Pull the PS pump/plate assembly, the pump has a fine suction screen bolted to it. It probably needs cleaned. Parts book is the only place I've ever seen a picture of one. I had to clean the screen 3 times on my 85D before it stopped acting up. Had some fine shop towel fibers floating around inside. Drain about 4 gallons of oil out the trans drain plug, then the plate can be removed. PS starting to work and then stopping is what mine did too when the screen plugs.

I vaguely recall having to drain fluid, take the plate off, then taking the pump off the plate. Seems like there was some sort of valve that you then have to unscrew from the pump, to get to a mesh screen. I think it was very important to count how many turns it takes to unscrew it, so that you can put it back exactly the same as it was, i want to say it controls how much pressure the pump puts out. I'm sure there are some better posts on this forum that explain it. Last I checked you could get a new pump for $1k on ebay. Good luck!
