lower lift bar lenght issue

How much room behind the rear tires should a bush cutter have? The Massey 35 we just got has new tires but I'm sure they are bigger then original size.

Right now when the lower lift bars are at the lowest point the clearance from the tires to the centre of the lower lift bar ball is about 5 inches. As we move the hitch up the distance decreases to around 4 inches.

Is this too close to the tractor and would it cause problems with a mower or bush cutter?

Also, where do you get parts in Canada that are affordable? I need to buy 2 new lower lift bars but I think we need longer ones then the originals. The originals are 32 inches centre on centre.

I think I need to buy new lower arms that have multiple holes near the centre. This way the upper lift link arms can remain the same but be connected off centre of the new lower bars. Otherwise with longer lower bars and only one centre hole the bush cutter won't sit right as the lift link arms would be short.

At least with longer lower bars I would get a bit more clearance with a bush cutter hooked up.

Any input and recommendations is greatly appreciated. This is all new to me.

Thanks

Scott

On my MF 35 with a 5 foot rotary mower, the distance from the rear of the 12.4x28 tire to the middle of the lower lift pin in the down
position is about 4 inches. In the raised position, it is about 3 inches. I have never had a problem in over 40 years. I have anti-sway bars
on the lift arms to prevent the mower from swaying side to side.

I run a 48" mower on both my FE-35 X and my TEA-20. FE-35 has 24" rear rims and the TEA-20 has 28" rear rims. Given the mower is only 48" there is never a problem. I run one 32" stabilizer.
