MF 50 replace Carter with MS

I been working on an MF 50 with carb problems,[among other things]. It has a Carter carb on it that I am NOT impressed with! I don't know if it was left in a cleaning tank for too long or if the quality of the internal parts are just poor. But all the springs on it are broken and the choke plate is coming apart, and I have been unable to find replacement parts for it. So much for my rant! I see that the 50 was also made with a Marvel carb, so my question is will the Marvel fit on a manifold for a Carter? Or is the bolt spacing different?

The spacing is the same 2 3/8" center to center on the carb studs. You should be able to put a MS TSX882, TSX683, TSX605 carburetor right on. The MF, and MH 50's gas tractors used the same intake/exhaust manifold for either the Carter, or MS carb.

Thanks, that helps a lot. I did not like the idea of replacing it with another Carter.
