Hello,
It seems that there is little referencing between the positions of the POSITION CONTROL lever, the vertical lever which operates the pump and the linkage cam housing mounted on the main cross-shaft. These should all be in 'balance' so that when one changes the changes is transmitted to the others. Have you checked that the small tension spring between the POSITION control frame and the 'dog' lever is in place. I suspect that this spring is missing or stretched and may well be the cause of your problem. It should be shown in the I&T manual. If this is in place the frame or dog lever may be worn or bent. It is also possible that the roller which runs on the cross-shaft arm is badly worn. Check for anything worn or bent which might upset the 'balance'. Go back to my original post and familiarise yourself with the operation of the system.

The linkage for the draft, and position control is like the inner workings of a clock (only bigger) like a clock every thing has to be close to perfect as possible. I don't know of anyone who didn't struggle the very first time they worked on them, unless they had someone who had experience working on them on hand to help.
