Water in Hydro Oil

I've got a MF 202 with milky looking hydro oil. Ok, so I'm going to put in a fresh 8 gals. of GL-1 90 wt oil.

I saw on another forum a fellow suggested that after draining the old stuff out, to put in a couple gallons of kerosene and run it around the yard a little then drain that out before putting in new fluid. Is this a good idea to use the kerosene? If so wouldn't it be better to use like 3 gallons of it? Using only two gallons just sounds like it would still be too dry for running.

An oil question will get you many opinions,

Kerosene is a strong cleaner, if the hydro system is working properly, just dirty oil,

I believe I would drain the oil, then add 3 or 4 gals of replacement oil, run all the systems to be sure the old oil is out, then drain this oil and add
your new oil,

The kerosene could start breaking loose built up gunk inside the gear case an stop up you valves and oil lines,

Just my two cents!

The hydro system is working on and off if I get it started by lifting by hand. I'm hoping the new fluid will help it.

Mine was the same way when I bought it. I drained it and filled it back up with a cheap hydraulic oil I got from Tractor Supply. Ran it for a while and drained it again and used a better quality oil for the final fill. It got all the milky stuff out. I think I spent about 35 bucks for the "cleaning" intermediate fill.
