Diesel in crankcase!

What is wrong? There appears to be fuel in the crank case of my Perkins powered 165. I have no clue as what to do. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

Assuming that the engine is running normally and not pouring oil down through the cylinders from leaking injectors the first place to look is the
fuel lift pump, release it from the cylinder block and check for fuel leaking through the diaphragm.
The next possible source of leakage could be the front seal of the fuel injection pump leaking into the timing case.
Good luck.

Xs two what Ray mentioned, start with the fuel supply pump first. Then if you still see the oil level rise the injection pump can leak also. I've been seeing more leaks lately on pumps, drive seals, head seal, cover seals etc. Just did the neighbor's White 2-85 pump, it had several leaks too.

I agree with Ray and Dieseltech. In theory I guess the Thermostart could leak into the intake and down on cylinders, but then you have the risk of filling diesl on top of the piston so the starter have trouble cranking, and that can also cause serious damage to the engine. Unless the rings are so worn that it drains down in a hurry.
What you can do is remove the thermostart plug and see if it leaks there. It is after all an easy fix.

Must be one of these things, except if you have a gas engine on the tractor, and still get diesel in the crank case, then I have no clue what is wrong... lol
