MF-50 suddenly stoppped charging.

Original generator with tach.....belt is tight.
Installed a known good battery....no charge....

Is there a method to connect a voltmeter to the generator
to check if it generates voltage. in order to know if
generator or regulator fault.

Thanks in advance

You can do a motor test on it which will tell you if it is good or not. To motor test it up unhook the wire on the generator and then jump from the ignition side of the battery to it and the generator should spin up like a motor if good

Quick check we used at the dealership is with the engine at a fast idle, ground the generator FIELD terminal, if I it shows a charge the regulator is bad. No charge the generator needs attention.

If no charge with field grounded, then jumper ARM to BAT on regulator. If it now charges the cutout is bad. If still no charge, then check generator.
