135 diesel cooling system

The lower radiator hose on my 135 diesel never gets warm...but the tractor does not seem to overheat; stays at 190 degrees if my guage is right.

I have flushed system, replaced water pump, thermostat, radiator (was damaged beyond core). If I squeeze the lower hose, the radiator "burps"....and I think the stat is opened; not sure.

Is there any way to check for circulation?

Am I worrying too much???

I'd appreciate any advice

You worry too much, the lower hose will always be cooler IF the radiator is doing it's job. Hot water in the top, cooler out the bottom. Thermostat controls the circulation as needed.

Cold means radiator is removing the heat well. Diesel engines at idle also run cooler than gas engines do. Check the exhaust manifold on a diesel at idle, most run about 250 degrees. Same gas engine will be 450-500 degrees..

I wouldn't worry unless it gets above 190. I've got a 190 thermostat and mine gets up to that and stays. I don't remember if the lower rad hose feels cold, but I know I can grab it without getting burnt.
