Hello, I took apart the damaged hydraulic lift pump from my MF 3165. I could use some advice whether to continue with the repair, or throw in the towel and by a new one. At this point my goal is to simply get it working. The tractor has so many other problems, I'm hesitant to pour money into it.
Problem: The inner surface of the pump body has been badly worn (see picture). Will the pump still work with it in this condition?
Question #2: I purchased a new cam block and noticed the new part is different from the original. It is missing the two holes on either side. (see picture) I'm guessing the holes are there to help lubricate the camshaft. Should I drill holes in the new part?
Thank you very much for your help!
