Z145 oil filter

I got a new filter for my 135 and the box had an O ring and flat gasket. I didn't see an O ring come out when I pulled it. So, I assumed it was for a different application. I put the filter back on with the flat gasket. Did I miss something, Joe.

Or the next oil change you can convert it to a spin-on filter.

Thanks for the picture, looks like the big O ring is for something else. I thought about going to a spin on, but, I also like original. I don't mind the canisters. I drain the oil and let it set a while and there is very little left in the canister. Thanks again for the picture, that's what mine looks like, Joe.

The Continentals use a by pass oil filter system, it filters a small amount of oil the dumps back into the oil pan so the engine doesn't get pre filtered oil. The oil filter is really useless so clean oil is the main thing.

That's nice to know. It won't get a lot of use, but oil is cheap, and I really like this tractor, Joe.
