Round Bales and Massey 135

I have a guy who buys hay from me and he has a MF35 and it is all his 35 will do to lift my hay bales but I have a NH850 round baler to there the big 6X6 bales and come in at over 1500lbs. He some times has to put some one on the hood to move the bale

The 135 is a little light on the front for the really heavy round bales. I took the heavy duty front axle, and front axle support off of my MF 2135 industrial, and put it on my 135 in-place of the old, light swept back 135 front axle.

I was looking at an MF-65 but started to get a little concerned about it being able to lift them. I usually get 4 x 5.5s

A 65 would do any of them with no problem, what matters is how dense the bales are. Our 4x5 bales are so dense that you can't use a spear to pick one up even with the weight and momentum of a Ford 7710 behind it (the spear will only go in about 12") you have to use the forks on our 4x5 bales.

Don't know about hay bales, but my 150 moved several of these after dozer pushed them out :)

I have moved a lot of bales with a 65 and a 165, and they do it fairly easily.

Never tried it with something as small as a 135. Don't think it would work well unless the bales were pretty light.

If ya end up trying it, would you let us know?

135 is light on front and too small for serious round bale transport. Could be ok for a few on flat ground. A 165 square axle much better and similar costs to buy as a 135. I have a 135, 165 and 265. Would not use 135 for moving my 4x5 rounds.
