MF TO-20 Loose Throttle

I have an MF TO20. The throttle control rod is very loose. During operation the rod drifts downward causing the tractor to run at high rpm's. Is there a way to adjust the linkage?

Under the dash there are some round friction disks that hold the throttle where you put it. Those disks are probably gone, part number 180713M2. The disks are cork, but the ones I tried to make using the roll of cork they use for making gaskets didn't work very well, and didn't last.
