MH 44 was running and quit. Now will only start when choked but does not remain running.
dies after 10 or 15 seconds. Fuel Glass is clean, fuel is flowing, Gas is fresh.
System was a 6V but now a 12 V, with the resistor in the line to the coil.
any suggestions?

Do some simple trouble shooting
#1 check that you have a good blue/white spark at the plug wires and the center wire on the cap. It need to jump a 1/4 inch gap or more.
#2 pull the carb drain plug and let the gas flow for 3 minutes. In that time it should fill a pint jar if not in less then that time.
#3 when was the last time you checked the air cleaner oil cup and cleaned the mud an water out of it

what does that mean?... fuel is flowing>>> where? at the bowl? at the carb? at the carb drain???sounds like your jet is plugged in the carb.

Burned out resistor. Jump wire to
bypass. While you are cranking it is
bypassing to give hotter spark. When
you go to run circuit the resistor drops
to 6 volts. Or zero if burned out.
